Maya Watanabe (born in Perú, 1983) is a Peruvian visual artist and filmmaker who works mainly with video installations. She visited us for our 2nd edition in 2016 to present her short film ‘A desert‘.
Her work has been shown in institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo, Matadero, Lima Art Museum, Das Fidericiarium and the Cervantes Institute among others.
She has participated in film festivals such as Videobrasil, LOOP, FILE, TransitioMX, Madrid Abierto and the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana; as well as at the Beijing Biennale.
